Course Description

The Master of Science in Counselling programme is a two-year course that covers the compressive ground in understanding issues related to mental health and wellbeing. The modules are carefully chosen to develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the aetiology and therapy regarding counselling issues. The course will also advance students’ understanding of counselling assessments and testing, diagnostic and treatment planning, and research, in practical situations. Special areas covered in this course include child and adult psychopathology, group counselling, geriatric counselling and addiction counselling with a focus on Maldivian cultural context. Students will be working alongside counsellors and gain extensive experience in counselling settings during their internships.
